This Is Tmrw - June Listings
June is almost upon us and our friends at This is Tmrw have an incredible line-up of shows throughout the month. You can find out about them all and get your advanced tickets by reading on…
Sunday 2nd June – Splashh, Popstrangers & Heavy Waves (14 +)
New Zealand/Australian/English band Splashh are still at the beginning of their journey, after forming in early 2012 the band have been turning heads from day one with their distinctive sound. Described best as a tropical, tripped out take on swirling psych-garage and doused with insouciance, vitamin D and dizzying kaleidoscopes. Support on the night comes from Popstrangers & Heavy Waves. Tickets are £7 in advance and available here. Check out their video for the single ‘All I Wanna Do’ below:
Tuesday 4th June – Drenge, The Wytches & Bad Moon (14 +)
The two brother band hailing from the Peak District are often referred to as Derbyshire’s Blackeys and have seen their punky-blues rock style earn them a co-headline tour with Deep Valley and a support slot with the Cribs at Brixton Academy. The band are signed to Infectious, alongside ALT-J, and sees Eoin Loveless on guitar and vocals with brother Rory Loveless on drums. Support on the night comes from Brighton based psychedelia specialists The Wytches and Birmingham’s own Bad Moon. Tickets are £6 advanced and available right here. Check out the video for Drenge’s ‘Blood Sports’ below:
Sunday 9th June – M O N E Y & Epic45
Manchester’s M O N E Y come to the Hare and Hounds for the band’s debut Birmingham performance. Easily one of the most exciting bands to come out of the UK in recent years who combine the ethereal dynamics of Sigur Ros with stark minimalist and spine tingling vocals. This is a very special opportunity to catch them before they blow up. Support comes from Epic45. £7 advanced tickets are available here. Below is the video for the single ‘Bluebell Fields’, a Leftfoot office favourite.
Wednesday 19th June – Temples & Charlie Boyer & The Voyeurs
Kettering’s Temples have in the space of just a few months become one of the most talked about bands in the UK. Touring with the likes of Suede and The Vaccines (on request) and picking up fans from all over, including Noel Gallagher, all on the back of 1 single. The band write beautifully crafted songs that take psych, 60’s, come ethereal shoe-gazey moments and pure and simply the classic British approach to pop music and song-writing. This is one of only 3 UK dates before they go and support the rolling stones at Hyde Park so make sure you catch them in a small venue whilst you can. Tickets are selling quickly for this one, so get them whilst you can by clicking here. Check out their single ‘Shelter Song’ below:
Tickets are also on sale for a selection of This is Tmrw shows later in the year including Youth Lagoon, in conjunction with Manchester’s Now Wave, on Thursday 18th July and Florida’s Merchandise who come to the Hare and Hounds on Tuesday 20th August. All of these events are selling well, so to avoid disappointment we highly recommend you get your tickets in advance.
