Stealing Sheep to play Hare & Hounds
Stealing Sheep are a noisily drenched DIY-pop band from Liverpool. In the hazy shape of ‘psychedelic folktronica’, they play low-fi Casio & Yamaha synth’s that whirl in medieval patterns amongst 60’s style drones, along to hypnotic beats, spiralling whammy guitars and mystical harmonies. After honing their sound this last year touring with the likes of Sea of Bees, Best Coast, Summer Camp, Alt-J and Field Music, Stealing Sheep’s debut album, ‘Into The Diamond Sun’, is due to drop this September, with accolades already coming in from all corners of the music press.
Their debut album ‘Into The Diamond Sun’ is out September 3rd through Heavenly Records.
“This debut album is dreamy but catchy as hell” – 4/5, The Stool Pigeon
“Stealing Sheep’s debut album is a delightful bag of pick’n’mix. You can hear the twang of a Velvet Underground guitar here, a buzz of Ladytron there, often atop their fondness for creepy Wicker Man vocal harmonies.” – 4/5, The Guardian
Stealing Sheep play the Hare & Hounds on Thursday 6th December 2012. Tickets available here.
