Shatner's Bassoon To Play H&H This Thursday

Presented by Town Hall Symphony Hall as part of the Jazzlines programme, Shatner’s Bassoon  play the Hare & Hounds this Thursday 28th November.

Shatner’s Bassoon are a band of six improvisers and composers based in Leeds and cite influences from bands and players as diverse as John Zorn, Mr. Bungle, Tim Berne, eastern European folk, Brazilian and Indian music.  Certainly what I liked about their music was that they were great fun and took the music in different and ever changing directions, sometimes quite suddenly. The presentation through announcements is droll and entertaining.

The members of the band are Michael Bardon, bass and electronics, Ollie Dover, sax and clarinet, Joost Hendrickx, drums and electronics, Andrew Lisle, drums, Johnny Richards, keys and electronics, Craig Scott, guitar and electronics.

Shatner’s Bassoon play the Hare and Hounds Thursday, 28th November with Chris Mapp solo bass in support.  Doors are at 8pm, with the show kicking  of 8.30pm. Grab your advanced £8 tickets here.
