Nightmares On Wax to Play the Hare & Hounds

Eighteen years on from their last appearance in Birmingham, we are delighted to be welcoming Nightmares On Wax to the Hare & Hounds on Saturday 4th October for a live show of vast proportions.

Marking the 25th anniversary of Nightmares On Wax’s very first release – 1989’s “Let It Roll” – the appearance comes as part of N.O.W.’s most expansive tour to date, celebrating “N.O.W. Is The Time”, a brand new compilation comprising a special selection of N.O.W. highlights.

George ‘E.A.S.E’ Evelyn, AKA Nightmares On Wax will be joined on stage by vocalists Ricky Ranking & Mozez (Zero 7), legendary percussionist Shovell (M People), and drummer Grant Kershaw for a live experience aimed to transport listeners into the joyful world of sound systems, all-day parties and endless fun.

With seven albums to his name, Nightmares On Wax is Warp Records longest serving artist, and has created numerous moments that defined an era. Early work included two of the UK’s first rave classics, “Dextrous” and “Aftermath”, with “Smoker’s Delight” following in 1995 and going on to be considered as one of the main catalysts in the explosion of chillout and downtempo music of today.

“Carboot Soul” was the next LP release, taking the vibe in a more organic funk direction, with “Mind Elevation” and “In A Space Outta Sound” dropping in 2002 and 2006 respectively, as well as acclaimed compilations for the DJ Kicks and Late Night Tales series.

2008’s “Thought So…” and last year’s “Feelin Good”, an album focused around everybody’s sovereign right to feel positive, complete one of the most impressive and influential back-catalogues in electronic music.
