Youngblood Brass Band flouts convention in an ecstatic, raucous, incendiary fashion, taking the form of a New Orleans brass band and morphing it into a punked-out hip-hop behemoth of groove and purpose. The ten-member ensembles have been unleashing their crash course in genre-bending on stages worldwide since 2000 and it’s fair to say Youngblood Brass Band have become an institution, one that demands to be seen and heard. Friday 15th November – Hare & Hounds – Leftfoot & No Way Back Present Horse Meat Disco
Now approaching their tenth year of existence, the four man DJ club collective Horse Meat Disco have continued to lead the way in the disco field with packed residencies at their HQ Eagle London in London’s inner city Vauxhall, Cielo and various venues in New York, Prince Charles in Berlin and Silencio/Wanderlust in Paris. Inspired by the music and inclusive ethos of New York’s heady club scene in the 80s & 90s the collective have garnered a unique reputation for throwing amazing parties with unmatchable sets. Wednesday 20th November – Hare & Hounds – Leftfoot Present Alice Russell & Lumi HD
Alice Russell is pure natural talent, a natural presence, a force of nature. Whether on a big stage with her 16 piece band, charming a crowd of 4000 into staying out dancing in the rain (as she did at Montreal Jazz Festival) or rocking out an intimate club set with a stripped down six piece band, she’s a singer who demands attention. Back again with long time production partner TM Juke, Alice will be touring her new album ‘To Dust’ and we can’t wait to have her back on the main stage at the Hare & Hounds. Introducinglive began with a single great idea, take a classic electronic album and recreate it with a live band. Starting in 2007 with DJ Shadow’s ‘Endtroducing’, they’ve been playing to packed houses all over the UK and Europe ever since. Today, now a slimmed-down six-piece turn their sights on their greatest challenge yet: Daft Punk’s legendary 2001 LP, ‘Discovery’. Introducinglive combines the buzz of a live gig with music that you never imagined you’d hear live. Expect robotics and lasers. Expect a stunt guitarist, samples triggered by increasingly blurry hands, and sixty-one minutes of unbelievable drumming. Saturday 30th November – Bull’s Head – Leftfoot Sessions Present Adam Regan & Tom Shorterz
Leftfoot continue its series of FREE events at The Bulls Head showcasing some of the best up and coming DJs / Producers from Birmingham and beyond… with Tom Shorterz and Adam Regan playing all night long! Tom Shorterz has established himself as one of the tightest and most respected DJs in Birmingham. His now legendary after party often draws mammoth numbers of ravers who are looking for their upfront house and bass kicks. The duo will be playing all night long from 9pm through till 2am and entry is free all night so there are no excuses! See you on the dance floor.
