All Years Leaving - Introducing Hoopla Blue
On November 15th & 16th This is Tmrw will be hosting their first ever music festival, All Years Leaving, at the Hare & Hounds.
The weekend will see a number of bands, including Yuck, Dutch Uncles & Distophia play across the two days. In the run up to the festival we shall be featuring a number of ‘Introducing’ blogs to showcase some of the acts that will be gracing the H&H main stage. First up is Birmingham’s Hoopla Blue, who’ll be opening the Friday of the festival.
AYL INTRODUCING #1
HOOPLA BLUE
From: Birmingham
Playing: Friday 15 November @ All Years Leaving Festival
With their enchantingly deep psychedelic rock, an aura of mystery and abrasive live shows, we are proud to have Birmingham’s Hoopla Blue open the Friday night of All Years Leaving Festival with the knowledge 2013 has been good to them. Live outings to date have been rare but successfully executed affairs, seeing them support Wolf Alice being one highlight as well as their debut London headline show in August for our second ‘Thisistmrw Camden Bank Holiday Takeover’ where their blisteringly loud and intense set seduced a packed out room, in particular one rather zealous female fan who invaded the stage during the final song, drinks got spilt, audience assumed her brain had melted, overcome by the summer heat, the extremity of the spiky guitars, the lush haunting vocals, a fitting end to a fine set we felt.
This is a band destined to fast outgrow the now laborious ”B-Town” tag every new act gets lamented with, the future is theirs in the next 12 months and with huge tunes such as “Seams” and “Holy Ghost” having already been championed by This Is Fake DIY, BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio, this looks to be a fine start to a great weekend:
