New Show: David Rodigan

We’re delighted to announce that Leftfoot will be bringing the legendary David Rodigan to the H&H on Saturday 25th July as part of the Leftfoot fifteen series.

For over 35 years David Rodigan has been the top dog in the ganja-scented, bass heavy-atmosphere of Britain’s reggae dance-halls. The key to his success has been an unsinkable passion for reggae music, which first took a hold of him as a schoolboy when he heard ska music in the early ’60s.

He developed an obsession with the music of Jamaica that generated an encyclopaedic knowledge of the island’s every artist, every song and every rhythm track. Check out his FACT mix below;

Official Mostly Jazz Festival Afterparty with The Nextmen

We are delighted to be hosting the official Mostly Jazz Festival Afterparty with The Nextmen on Friday 10th July.

Unless you have fallen lifeless somewhere thru the cracks you’ve more than likely witnessed Cambridge come Londoners The Nextmen, also known as Brad Baloo and Dom Search, at one of their many sweaty styled-out club sets, festival-smashing performances or heard their incendiary mixtapes, some just days old and some many years since they were recorded, that are still filling the ears of the blissed out masses who just want to kick back or kick up with big boss tunes, not wipe the irony from their chins from the up-chuck of resoundingly vapid faux counter-culture buffoonery.The Nextmen are not the center of cool for the next five minutes. Beloved the globe over by dedicated followers of music not dedicated followers of fashion, loving of the good groove irrespective of genre but not of taste.

This eclectic production duo continue to carve up shiny gems from London’s lovely low-end underbelly with albums, singles, mixes, remixes, podcasts, DJ sets and live shows, blending anything worth listening to from all electronic music styles. Making this connection between music they love be it dancehall, drum’n’bass, dubstep, reggae, roots, instrumental and actual hip hop, soul and soulful low-end boomp, funk & (UK) funky, indie, leftfield, ambient, pop and straight-up party jacking pleasers, is something Baloo and Search always strive to achieve, weaving their way on 4 turntables with mastery and abandon, all laced up with their own sought after mash-up edits, bootlegs and specials. Check out their single ‘Round of Applause below;

New Show: Kid Wave

We’re pleased to announce that This is Tmrw & Counteract Magazine are joining forces to bring hotly tipped Kid Wave to the Hare & Hounds on Wednesday 30th September.

The international two girl/two boy quartet’s debut album Wonderlust is a crafted set of pop songs that bathe in the golden, restorative rays more commonly associated with life on the Californian coast rather than London, where Kid Wave reside. This is music that’s delivered with an uplifting sense of youthful wild abandon and imbued throughout with blissful surges of musical serotonin but with clear undercurrents of a wistful sense of melancholy too. Occasionally dark clouds obscure their sonic sunshine and there’s a nagging sense that no summer lasts forever. Check out the video for their single ‘Wonderlust’ below;
