Lindi Ortega to play Hare & Hounds

Ruby-lipped, raven-haired beauty Lindi Ortega pulls on her bright red cowboy boots once again for a European jaunt, playing 10 UK dates including Birmingham’s Hare & Hounds.

After springing onto the scene last year with her debut, self-confessed “countrypolitan” debut ‘Little Red Boots’, the Canadian singer- songwriter delighted audiences at some of her first ever UK live outings.

Now she’s back on January 21st with ‘Cigarettes & Truckstops’, her second full-length LP on Last Gang Records, and a stunning testament to her recent move to Nashville – Lindi’s spiritual home. Despite keeping many of the folk-led, Americana flavours as her debut, it is a genuine country article but with a bluesy thread running straight through the middle.

“A barnstorming performance…her voice is a truly magnificent instrument” – The Independent

Lindi Ortega plays Hare & Hounds Birmingham on Wed 27th February 2013, presented by Birmingham Promoters. Support comes from Welsh duo Zervas & Pepper. Tickets available here.

Joe Banfi & Matt Sheehan to support Marcus Foster

Excited to announce the supports for Marcus Foster at Hare & Hounds will be Joe Banfi & Matt Sheehan!

Already championed at XFM and 6Music thanks to a solitary track ‘Olive Green’, Northwich’s Joe Banfi possesses that stark individualism seen in the likes of both Michael Kiwanuka and Ben Howard.

However, where Banfi typically shares an affinity with a number of timeless solo artists of old, it’s his unlikely rock, grunge, and metal influences that provide the unsettling aura of the record of his new ‘Iron EP’, released via Communion Records.

Matt Sheehan is an indie/folk singer-songwriter from Birmingham UK. Although still in his younger years, he delivers songs and performances that are emotionally captivating. His performances are known to leave his audiences in a room of pin drop silence. After supporting the likes of Jessie J, Lucy Rose, Brother and Bones and Ethan Ash and heading out on his headline UK tour, Matt recently recorded his debut E.P ‘The Alder Tree’ set for release by the end of 2012.

Joe Banfi & Matt Sheehan support Marcus Foster at Hare & Hounds Birmingham on  Monday 12th November 2012, presented by Birmingham Promoters. Tickets available here.
