Birmingham Comedy Festival presents: The XXXX Comedy Cabaret
With Ben Davids, Lee Grant, Phil McCullough, Adam Chivers, Ryan Gough and MC James Cook. Twenty years ago, The XXXX Comedy Cabaret was huge at The Hare and Hounds and compered by one Frank Skinner. Now it’s back, though sadly without Frank! However, the ethos is the same, and recognising the amazing amount of comedy talent that is emerging from Birmingham and the West Midlands is at the heart of this monthly club. Four of the brightest talents that the area has to offer will be performing alongside circuit regulars James Cook and Ryan Gough. These guys have big comedy futures, so come and see them now, before they follow in Skinner’s footsteps and sell out the NIA!
Soul Food Project presents: Roasts ‘n’ Records
Every Sunday Soul Food Project opens the back bar for an exclusive afternoon of Cajun Roasts and Jazz. The Soul Food Boys will be in at the crack of dawn roasting potatoes in rosemary and garlic, preparing glazes and rubs for our meats and working on mean gravy’s, spicy stuffed yorkshire puddings and prepping fresh veg.We’ll be joined by local muso Andrew Dubber who’ll be manning the wheels of steel from 1pm till 4pm playing some seriously nice jazz (think everything from bluenote through to spiritual stuff, jazz funk and good old fashioned dusty soul records)
