The Friends of Moseley Road Baths Fundraiser
The Friends of Moseley Road Baths campaign group is staging its second evening concert, an acoustic gig with appearances from Ben Joseph, David Wilkins, Eamon Lavery, Theatre of the Absurd and Ziggie Paul IV & the Nasty Cats, who have kindly offered their services in support of the campaign.
The Friends group campaign to keep the baths open and pressurise the Council to invest money in refurbishing the building, which is Grade II* listed, and re-opening the larger Gala pool. Active since November ’06, the group has, during that time, run many activities including a Centenary celebration, tours of the building, free swimming days, seminars, Saturday afternoon benefit gigs and ‘Pool of Memories’ days for past swimmers to record their stories of when they used the pool and slipper baths. This project will hopefully be expanded to incorporate an exhibition and possibly a book.
At the gig, there will be a stall selling T-shirts, postcards and badges, and the chance to become a member of the Friends group.
