New Show: Broken Hands
Following a stint supporting iconic British rock band The Cult through February & March, Canterbury quintet Broken Hands will headline Birmingham Hare & Hounds on Monday 25th April, following the release of their latest single ‘Four’ on 25th March.
‘Four’ – a two-and-a half-minute tour de force of dirty riffs and high octane urgency – is the latest single to be taken from the band’s acclaimed debut album Turbulence.
The album itself, produced by the award-winning Tom Dalgety (Royal Blood, Killing Joke andMaccabees), recalls the superfuzz melodic rush of Queens Of The Stone Age or perhaps The Verve at their early, wigged-out best. The band count 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq and XFM’s John Kennedy as champions of the band, and they have also received strong support from BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac, Huw Stephens and Phil Taggart.
Broken Hands have supported the likes of The Rolling Stones and Black Sabbath, as well as playing various festivals, including BST in Hyde Park, Reading & Leeds, T In The Park and Sonisphere. They finished 2015 with an acclaimed performance at CMJ Festival in NYC and a hugely successful UK headline tour. Check out their single ‘Who Sent You’ below;
