New Show: A Guy Called Gerald & Nightmares On Wax

After 2014’s sell out show with Marshall Jefferson and Maurice Fulton, House Sound of Birmingham and Leftfoot are joining forces once again to bring two of the UK’s most influential club pioneers A Guy Called Gerald and Nightmares on Wax to the H&H on Saturday 9th April.

Where do you start with A Guy Called Gerald? A hidden gem, the gateway between Chicago house / Detroit Techno and the UK dance music explosion in the late 80s. He is one of a few special producers who entered dance music in the jacking zone. He is the first UK acid house producer and probably the first producer to have two instrumental dance tracks in the UK charts at the same.

Nightmares on Wax is an institution, albeit a delightfully different one. The man behind the moniker, George Evelyn, just keeps reinventing – not in a wilful Bowie way, but flowing along, going at whatever speed he fancies to wherever his ideas carry him. For the last seven years he’s lived in an Ibizan farmhouse and, while he’s Warp Records’ longest serving artist – “the granddaddy,” as he puts it – he overwhelmingly focuses on his current projects, letting them revitalize his music.

Early Bird, First Release & Second Release tickets for the show have already sold out with the remaining £14.50 advance tickets available here.
