Monday & Wednesday

~ Back Bar quizzes – Lots of prizes to be won!

Wednesday

~ Leftfoot, B’ham Promoters & This Is Tmrw presents: The Phenomenal Handclap Band –  have crafted a sound that is equal parts anthemic, dancefloor-oriented and orchestral, borrowing elements from progressive rock, disco, electro, and psychedelia. Live, it pulses with a savage rhythm section that provides the ultimate foil for cascading guitars and electrified washes of organ and synthesizers. Their delirious sermonizing whips crowds into a charismatic frenzy. Needless to say, their live shows are more akin to a spiritual church revival than an actual rock show

~ World Unlimited, B’ham Promoters & The Drum presents: Raghu Dixit / Chris Tye & Jayne Powell / Finding Calcutta – fast become a shining beacon in the burgeoning Indian independent music scene. Raghu’s debut album released 2008, became India’s highest selling non-film music release last year. With a towering voice fronting traditional Indian folk music, subtly infused with elements of Western Rock, Arabic, Latino and Reggae textures and rhythms. His lyrics are intense, direct and speak about everyday themes, emotions and experiences making his songs truly universal

Thursday

~ Capsule presents: Silver Apples / Pram – An electronic/psychedelic duo formed in 1967 in New York City, reformed in the 90s. Contrasting the flowery psychedelic rock music of the late 60s they were one of the first groups to employ electronic music techniques extensively within a rock idiom, and their minimalistic style, with its pulsing, driving beat and frequently discordant modality, anticipated not only the experimental electronic music and krautrock of the 1970’s, but underground dance music and indie rock of the 1990s as well.

Friday

~ The Lunar Society presents: Goodnight Lenin’s Official Debut Single Launch – Celebrating the release of their debut single ‘Crook in the Creek’ on local label Static Caravan, Moseley Folk Festival’s Lunar Society presents a night with Goodnight Lenin. They’ve only been at it a year or so but Goodnight Lenin caught the eye of the Moseley Folk team back in December after releasing a YouTube video of a simple acoustic performance in which they sat perched on the counter tops of their kitchen. Support comes from The Young Runaways, Boat To Row & Jodi Ann Bickley

Saturday

~ Sumo presents: Reggae & Bass – Aries – UK based Drum & Bass, Jungle and Dubstep DJ/Producer. He has been a part of bass culture music since 1990 and hasn’t looked back since. His main influences are Roots and Dub Reggae which will come as no surprise if you listen to his music or have heard him play. His music is unique and offers soul and depth that not only makes people think and listen but holds its weight and has maximum impact on the dance floor.
