Wednesday

Leftfoot & Birmingham Jazz presents: Soil & Pimp Sessions – Born out of Tokyo’s energetic club scene, when members Shacho and Tabu Zombie dropped their ‘live Jam session’ based DJ set, creating fully fledged live band. The band’s adrenalin-fuelled live sets created a buzz on the live scene. Now S&PS have rapidly become leaders of the “Death Jazz” sound. They had caught the attention of DJs abroad, and they soon began to receive heavy air-play on Gilles Peterson’s worldwide radio show on BBC Radio 1

Friday

Leftfoot presents: Gilles Peterson & Earl Zinger – Not many DJ’s have influenced the sound of Leftfoot as much as Radio 1’s Gilles Peterson.  From his live broadcast at the Custard Factory back in 2001, to his most recent show at the Hare & Hounds in January 2009, Gilles never fails to raise the roof. His “Worldwide” radio show continues to push the most progressive sounds alongside the best soul, jazz, funk and latin from the last 50 years.  Gilles will be joined on stage by his partner in crime, ex Galliano frontman and all round vocal wizard, Earl Zinger
