This Week @ Hare & Hounds

Amazing nights are becoming a common occurrence for us at the Hare & Hounds and last week was another corker! Not to mention our New Soul Food Kitchen is proving to be very popular with our hungry patrons in its first week opening, the menu is now available on the website, go have a gander at what’s to munch!

Also some of you may have already got your first monthly news letter from us if you have subscribed on our site, apologies to those still waiting, you should have it within the next few days. Monday
~ Birmingham Promoters presents: Rogue States / Blackchords / Black Dollar Bills – some bands aspire to greatness; chasing big sounds and big ideas in an attempt to resonate. For others, it just happens to them. The soaring melodies and driving anthems, like the obvious U2/Coldplay/Snow Patrol comparisons, are there because that’s just what happens when feeling and towering choruses meet. With support from Australian touring band Blackchords! This is a show not to be missed!
~ World Unlimited presents: Jackie Leven – Scottish poet and singer-songwriter. Former lyricist, guitarist and vocalist for the punk band Doll By Doll. He has released 11 albums since his return to music in 1994; one of these, a duet with author Ian Rankin, features an exclusive short story, “Jackie Leven Said”. Since then, Jackie’s songs have followed a dark, gloomy theme – Jackie describes his songs as “saying shit happens” and then helping people to deal with it…

~ 8-Bit Ninjas play 8bit Lounge – regular geek-fest, at 8bit lounge we are here to immerse you in a world or retro, futuristic, and experimental electronics. ~ This is Tmrw & Speech Fewapy present James Yuill / Joyous / Waler / Tom Peel – James Yuill played for This Is Tomorrow a long time ago and they’ve tried to get him back since his one man lo fi folk via kitsune electro show absolutely smashed it. Since then he’s released a record on Moshi Moshi and toured all over the world including Sonar and a sold out tour with Zero 7. Apparently the live show this time around is even stronger so this is one not to be missed.

With Jazz rooted firmly in his blood, his father was a Jazz musician and his sister Monie Love was part of the Native Tongues hip-hop collective. DAVE ANGEL reached dizzying heights of notoriety for his energetic fusion of Techno, Funk and Jazz during the 90’s…
