We Have Band / 51 Breaks / The Skyline
We Have Band are Darren Bancroft (vocals, drums, percussion, sampler), Dede WP (vocals, percussion, sampler) and husband Thomas WP (vocals, guitar, bass, programming). They are a do-it-yourself trio who encompass the grooves of Talking Heads and the best bits of Hot Chip. They all live in London. They will release their debut album WHB in March. WHB is produced by Gareth Jones (Grizzly Bear, Interpol, Depeche Mode, These New Puritans).
51 Breaks take influences from Bruce Springsteen, through to The Sunshine Underground and Good Books. They make songs that take epic sounds civilized into time and tune, whilst expressing what even words can not say. With 3 part harmonies, electro beats and orchestral arrangements this is music made from passions and ideas that are free from restraint. Follow the advice of the NME and ‘’get out and see them’’ Having supported bands including The Maccabees, Captain, Cooper Temple Claus, The Infadels, Little Man Tate & Pure Reason Revolution, 51 Breaks have established a live show based upon catchy hooks, room filling sounds and high tempo performances. 51 breaks continue to build a dedicated fan base whilst pushing their sound into new directions.
Support comes from local band The skyline - We’re The Skyline. We are from Brum. We make music that you can sing along and sometimes laugh/dance/cry to, and are lucky enough to have shared the stage with the likes of Kano, Wiley, Zane Lowe, Little Man Tate, Underground Heroes, Robots in Disguise and The Troubadours. That was pretty cool.
RADIO 1 Just named us in their top 30 bands to watch out for in 2009. mint.
We also like recording our music, and we’ve just recorded our debut album with Gavin Monaghan, who has of late been key in the careers of Editors, The Twang, Nizlopi and has also sprinkled his magic on the likes of Kings Of Leon, Robert Plant, The Fugees and The Smiths.
