Ocean Reid / Goodnight Lenin – Cancelled

orOcean Reid –

‘It’s been about six months now since I crashed into Brighton (UK), with my trusty battered acoustic guitar in hand. I’ve set up my studio, and met some awesome musicians to start touring and recording my debut full length album with.
I was born and raised in Yorkshire, but my musical journey has kept me transient ever since. Having lived all over the UK homing my little musical craft and collaborating with the likes of Bond movie composer David Arnold. I’m dropping my musical anchor in Brighton. A pretty fun and cultured city that I really love stumbling around. The local live scene have been pretty cool with me rambling my tunes out and the BBC and local press have been rather cool 2.

So my schedule, as people keep calling it is unfolding pretty much like this:
My Debut single Talking Dead is being released worldwide by own D.I.Y label Surreal Records on 17th August. Mixed in NYC by Grammy nominated producer Alex Newport (Death Cab For Cutie, Peggy Sue). (The demo of this is currently stream-able from myspace)
I’m set to hit the road for a heavy touring schedule. Confirmed for summer festivals such as Beachdown Festival appearing alongside The Zutons & The Super Fury Animals & special equinox sunrise performance at The Out Of The Ordinary Festival.
A full UK tour is planned for September taking myself and my folk band of violins, drums, pianos and bass to Scotland and back again before heading off to tour Germany, Luxembourg and France.’

Goodnight Lenin – As the era of past outings ended we ventured into the forest to say goodnight to the pasture of our youth. The following winter was harsh and volatile alas we didn’t dare return to the forest. It eventually passed as did the spring and we woke to the scent of summer resting on our senses. We gathered our thoughts and stepped outside of the darkened room leaving our past triumphs to collect dust. With satchels in tow we climbed the hill which we had once walked to find the path we wished to travel. It seemed that months had passed and yet we were still to find our way. Our legs were tiring and the absence of motivation forced us to lie down and go back to sleep. As my head rested in the leaves i heard the sound of considered notes chiming beneath the earth. I alerted the sleeping and began to move the leaves and sure enough there it was; the path. We had been advancing in the right direction the entire time without even knowing. As we moved the earth to reveal the red brick we could see that the path was littered with words and notes which we collected and hurled into our satchels as we made a dash for the forest. We entered the grave yard, dragged our instruments from the ground and began to play.
