Dear Reader plus guests The Heathers & The Lights
A special band doesn’t belong to its members. It belongs to the listeners, the fans, the nutters who inhale the music and exhale the lyrics. Dear Reader is a special band.
Since getting together in 2006, they’ve won over media, industry bigwigs and, most importantly, the fans with rapturous live shows and a solid debut album called The Younger.
The Heathers, Birmingham based Quartet that bring to the table Shades of The Cardigans, Eadie Brickell and (the late, great) Beautiful South in places…
in other words clever, catchy pop that many bands would give a kidney for and tight enough to bounce pennies off!
(Birmingham Live)
“In this short time, The Heathers’ happy-go-lucky pop rock sound – has quickly attracted attention and critical applause.”
(The Birmingham Post)
Neat and well produced glorious pop;
(Playmusic Magazine)
The Lights are a lovely burst of energy, consisting of five bright eyed individuals with the heart and determination to be heard all over. Their sound is like nobody else, unique, eclectic and intimately epic with a touch of old enough to know better!
As lyrically adept as Idlewild but as melodically breezy as a hard rock Teenage Fanclub, they are a challenge to pigeonhole. Imagine Elvis Costello writing lyrics for ELO, fronted by James Dean Bradfield’s younger siblings(NME Magazine)
